Our Ledger

Privacy policy

Effective: October 6, 2026

bitdog ("we") sets out below how we handle users' information in the household budget service "Our Ledger (うちの家計)" (the iPhone app and the web app, the "Service"). If this translation differs from the Japanese version, the Japanese version prevails.

1. Information we collect

Account information: email address, display name and display language. Passwords are managed securely by our authentication service (Amazon Cognito); we never know them in plain text. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the email address and identifier they provide.

Budget data: household name, members, records of income and spending (amount, date, category, shop, note, tags), budgets, settlements, comments and attached photos.

Device information: the notification token if you allow push notifications, and the app version.

Feedback: what you send us, plus information attached automatically to investigate problems (platform, app version, OS version, display language).

Usage records: access logs needed to run and secure our servers (IP address, time, etc.).

2. How we use it

To provide the Service (storing and showing records, sharing within the family, sending notifications, etc.), to verify identity and keep the Service secure, to answer inquiries, and to investigate problems and improve the Service.

We do not use it for advertising or for analytics that track your behavior.

3. Sharing within the household

Budget data can be viewed and edited by every member of the same household. Who changed what, and when, is shown to household members in the activity log.

4. Third parties and external services

Except where required by law, we never provide or sell personal information to third parties without your consent.

The Service uses the following external services, and information is sent to them as needed: Amazon Web Services (servers and data storage, Tokyo region), Google / Apple (when you sign in with those accounts), Apple Push Notification service (push notifications) and Expo (delivering app updates).

5. Storage and security

Data is stored in AWS's Tokyo region and encrypted both at rest and in transit. Access is limited to what is strictly necessary.

6. Retention and deletion

We keep data while your account exists. When you delete your account from "My page" in the app or "Account settings" on the web, your account information is deleted. If you are the last member of your household, all of the household's data is deleted too; if other members remain, the household's records stay and you are shown as a "deleted member".

Feedback is also sent to the operator's email address so we can reply to you. When you delete your account, the feedback you sent is deleted from the service too.

Deleted records cannot be restored.

7. Requests for disclosure or correction

To request disclosure, correction or deletion of your information, please contact us at the address below. We will respond in accordance with the law after verifying your identity.

8. Changes

We may revise this policy as needed. We will announce important changes in the Service.
